My Book Buddy, a non-profit making Organization focused on promoting reading culture among children at the basic level, has donated reading materials and Bookcases to Bulpela Rock Assembly of God Cluster of schools, aimed at equipping the schools with educational materials to enhance reading and learning.

At a short ceremony at the forecourt of the school on Tuesday 24th June, 2025, the National Coordinator of “My Boo Buddy”, Mr. Ibrahim Nshinimi Iddrisu, handed over the items to the school and urged school authorities to put the items to good use.

Mr.Ibrahim Nshinimi stressed that he is supporting the cluster of schools through My Book Buddy’s donation out of the love he has for the Bilpela community, emphasizing that he is also a native of the community and considers the gesture as giving back to the community after the Bilpela community has groomed and raised him to reach the height he is today.

Among the items presented to the schools were 700 reading books, 15 bookcases, and scores of hanging bags.

Receiving the items for the Bilpela Cluster of schools on behalf of the Tamale Metro Education Director, Mr.Anabila Atinga thanked ‘My Book Buddy’ for the gesture, emphasizing that it will boost the learning culture of the children.

On his part, the representative of the Assembly of God, Rev. David Baako, indicated that the donation by “My Book Buddy” came at the right time to fill in the void that has always been left unattended, highlighting numerous challenges faced by the school, especially the lack of reading materials. However, he stated that the intervention by “My Book Buddy” will help mitigate the reading plight of the children.

While thanking “My Book Buddy” for the donation, the Head Teacher of one of the basic schools called on the Organization to extend the same gesture to the Kindergarten level in their subsequent projects, as it is the foundation of education.

On behalf of the community, the Assembly Member of the Bulpela Electoral area, Haruna Alhassan Alagazo, urged management of the school to put the learning materials to good use, adding that parents must also guide their children to ensure safe keeping of the reading materials.
